Emil Audero has spoken about transfer rumours linking him away from Sampdoria, with Inter among the player interested in acquiring the goalkeeper’s services.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia as reported by FCInter1908, Audero explained that he feels proud that he is a target for big clubs, but that he also is not interested in rumours and is happy in Genoa.
The 24-year-old is among the players who Inter are monitoring as the Nerazzurri search for a keeper who can back up Samir Handanovic next season with a view to taking over the Number One position from the Slovenian in the near future.
Audero joined Sampdoria on a permanent basis from Juventus in 2019 after spending one season on loan at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, and his performances have led him to be considered an outstanding goalkeeper.
The young goalkeeper is very pleased that his progress is being noticed, but he is not in a hurry to make a move away from his current club:
The player stated:
“The market is always a delicate topic, I don’t focus on the market for myself. If big clubs are interested in me I’m happy for two reasons: for the interest itself and because the interest is the result of good performances with Sampdoria.”
“For the transfer market I always say that you [journalists] know more about it than I do. For everyone else, I can only reiterate how happy I am in Genoa. Here they immediately made me feel at home.”
