Inter may be facing a big battle to renew Marcelo Brozovic’s contract this summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Croatian midfielder is expecting a considerable pay rise from the Nerazzurri due to his heightened importance to the team, and the interest being shown in him from elsewhere.
Marcelo Brozovic will be out of contact with Inter in June 2022, meaning the club need to renew his deal now, sell him this summer, or risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.
He currently earns €3.5 million a year, but now that he has been a key performer for multiple coaches and clubs like Paris Saint Germain have shown interest in him, he would like a deal closer to €6 million a year.
It is worth noting that Hakan Calhanoglu has been signed on a deal worth €4.5 million a year, rising to €5 million after two seasons.
