Sergi Roberto’s entourage have confirmed that Inter have made initial contacts about the possibility of bringing the player to the Giuseppe Meazza.
This according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, who spoke to those surrounding the 29-year-old midfielder and report that the Nerazzurri’s interest is real.
However, the current contacts have only been exploratory, and no serious progress has been made towards an offer to bring Roberto to Inter.
The player has been linked today in the Spanish press with a transfer to the Nerazzurri, who reportedly consider him to be a possible replacement for the imminently departing Achraf Hakimi on the right side of the team.
The Spaniard’s current contract with Barcelona runs out next summer, and the Blaugranas are not thought to have presented an offer for renewal yet, so the player could depart from the Camp Nou in the near future.
However, for now, while Inter’s interest can be confirmed there is still a long way to go before the move could become a reality.
