Achraf Hakimi has said farewell to Inter supporters in a goodbye letter posted on his official Instagram account.

The Moroccan thanks fans for their support, and expresses his happiness at having been part of a Scudetto triumph during his season at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The 22-year-old emphasizes that the season spent at Inter will always be an immensely positive memory for him, and that he is grateful to the fans as well as teammates and the staff at the club for making his experience in Milan a positive one.

Hakimi was officially announced today as a Paris Saint-Germain player, with his sale having been expected for some time as the Nerazzurri looked to complete a major sale in the summer in order to help meet financial targets.

The Moroccan’s departure will be a difficult moment for many Inter fans, but as his farewell makes clear, his time spent with the club was a positive one for both himself and the club, and this will endure even as his own story diverges from that of the Nerazzurri.

Hakimi’s letter:

“It’s only been a year, but what a year! Before I arrived, I couldn’t imagine what it meant to wear the Inter shirt. It was an honour to deplay for fend these colours.”

“It was a difficult season due to the pandemic, but I was still able to enjoy many unforgettable moments winning the Scudetto and writing history with all of you. I would like to thank all the staff members, club employees, fans and teammates for their affection, professionalism and respect.”

“I also thank my family for their unconditional support. I will always have Inter in my heart. A big hug to everyone and Forza Inter!”
