Inter could look to sign Keita Balde from Monaco as a low-cost arrival to ensure a reliable forward option with the situations of strikers Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez not fully secure.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Senegalese forward is being pursued by the Nerazzurri this summer.

Martinez is thought to be a player that the Nerazzurri do not wish to sell, but with interest from major European clubs including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid, there is a possibility that he could be tempted away from the Giuseppe Meazza this summer or in the future.

Alexis Sanchez, meanwhile, is considered an important option in attack, but the Chilean is also known to have struggled with injuries, and the club could look for a more reliable option.

With these players’ situations in mind, Balde’s arrival could give greater certainty to manager Simone Inzaghi as to the availability of a high-quality forward option, with the coach having enjoyed success with the Senegalese together at Lazio.

It is for this reason that the Nerazzurri are thought to be seriously considering a move for Balde, who has already spent one season at the Giuseppe Meazza, on loan in the 2018-19 season.
