Midfielder Lucien Agoume is set to sign a contract extension with Inter, and will stay on at the club until at least 2024 with his new deal.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 19-year-old will sign his new contract once his agent Djibril Niang arrives in Milan, with other agents Oscar Damiani and Crescenzo Cecere having already worked to complete the deal.

The Frenchman spent last season on loan with Spezia, where he impressed despite only appearing in twelve Serie A matches.

It is thought that the Nerazzurri are planning to send the player out on loan again in order to gain experience and develop, with several clubs in Serie A and Ligue 1 thought to be interested.

However, the player is currently with the rest of the Nerazzurri squad in pre-season training with new manager Simone Inzaghi, and he is hopeful of convincing the coach of his value to the first team.

Whether he spends next season at the Giuseppe Meazza or elsewhere on loan, it is clear that the Nerazzurri consider the midfielder an important talent and believe he has a future at the club, committing him for the future.
