Samir Handanovic could depart from Inter this summer, with the club not currently looking to renew the Slovenian’s contract.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri are planning to move on from the current Number One going forward.

There is no doubt that Handanovic will remain as the first-choice goalkeeper at the Giuseppe Meazza, with Simone Inzaghi ready to place his trust in the experienced keeper.

However, the Slovenian turns 37 this month, and the club are aware of the need to move on from him, with numerous keepers having been linked to the club already this window as potential long-term replacements.

The keeper currently earns €3.2 million on a deal which runs out at the end of June 2022, and should he stay on past the expiration of his current contract the Nerazzurri will want it to be on reduced terms.

A new contract could still be agreed, but for the time being no contact has been made between the Nerazzurri and the Slovenian’s entourage.
