Hakan Calhanoglu will get his first real taste of life at Inter soon, with the Turkish midfielder set to join up with the rest of the squad for training today.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 27-year-old will arrive to begin preparations for the new season with his teammates and head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Calhanoglu arrived last month after his contract with Inter’s city rivals AC Milan expired, with the player’s arrival thought to be meant to compensate for the loss of Christian Eriksen through health complications.

It is thought that the player could take the pitch for the first time in the Nerazzurri’s opening friendly against Lugano, with the midfielder’s legs ready for twenty or so minutes of action, and he will be eased into playing what is hoped to be a significant role for his new team.

Meanwhile, Slovak central defender Milan Skriniar is set up to join up with the squad from his vacation on Thursday, while Stefan de Vrij will meet with the team in Florida.

Tomorrow the training will include members of the Primavera side, with the youth players looking forward to show their ability alongside senior players.
