Nicolo Barella is committed to Inter, and will refuse offers for a move away from major European clubs, despite increased interest in the player from elsewhere.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that it is the player’s personal ambition to continue playing for the Nerazzurri, to help bring more success to the club, and to inherit the captain’s armband.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, and Bayern Munich on the strength of his impressive performances for the Nerazzurri in the past two seasons, and this interest is thought to have increased after the strength of his performances for the Italian national team at the Euros.

Liverpool in particular are thought to have stepped up their interest recently, with the Merseyside making their intentions clear with regard to the midfielder.

The Nerazzurri do not consider the player for sale, but would listen to offers which are truly exceptional should any arrive, towards the end of improving the club’s financial situation.

However, the player himself is thought to have no doubt on his desire to stay at the Nerazzurri, having hoped to play for the club since he was a child, and looks set to sign a contract extension during the window which will take his wages to a net of €4.5 million per season plus bonuses.
