Inter target Keita Balde could return to Sampdoria next season after spending last season on loan with the Ligurian club.

This according to Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero, who stated in an interview with Genoa-based newspaper Il Secolo XIX, reported by FCInter1908, that the club would like to keep the Senegalese forward.

Balde is thought to be a possible target for Inter in the window, with new head coach Simone Inzaghi having spoken to the player, who he worked with while head coach of Lazio.

The pair enjoyed success together, with the Senegalese showing good form and having his best goalscoring season in his final season with the Bianconeri, prompting a move to Monaco.

The striker’s time with Monaco has been mixed, having spent the 2018-19 season on loan with Inter before spending last season back on loan in Serie A, this time with Sampdoria.

The Nerazzurri could look to bring the player in to strengthen the attacking options available to Inzaghi for next season, though as Ferrero makes clear, so could Sampdoria.

When asked whether the player could return next season, the President responded as follows:

“Maybe! For him our doors are always open. I’ll tell you a secret: he is the idol of my son Rocco whose birthday is on August 5. He doesn’t ask me anything else other than Balde, he wants him back, it would be nice to give it to him.”
