Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has been discussing his musical tendencies ahead of the new season after his recent performance with Italian rock band Keemosabe, according to a report in the Italian media.
Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the player who played piano for a recent Keemosabe song suggested that he and his defensive partners at Inter are just as in-tune as the famous Italian rock band on the pitch.
“We certainly have shown that we are in tune on the pitch like a real band. Just like Keemosabe on stage.”
The defensive trio were instrumental for Inter as they claimed a first Serie A title since 2009/10. The Dutchman suggested that he finds it much less stressful to be on the pitch than it is to perform on stage with Keemosabe.
“When I played with them I was nervous, indeed very nervous, because I’m not used to certain situations! Inside a stadium, on the other hand, I always feel at ease, basically alive for those emotions, but on stage, it’s all another emotion.”
When asked if he had a specific song in mind that he could play for Inter’s new coach, Simone Inzaghi, the defender suggested that he has not yet spent enough time with the ex-Lazio manager but hopes to build a relationship soon.
“I don’t have a song in particular for Simone Inzaghi, maybe in future months, I will get the inspiration for a new song. Always hoping to be able to take away some satisfactions together also in this season.”
