Inter CEO Beppe Marotta: “Our Market Is Based On Creativity And Opportunity”

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has hinted at the fact Inter are not operating in this summer’s transfer market in a normal manner due to their financial troubles, according to a report in the Italian media.

Whilst speaking to Sport Mediaset before Inter’s first pre-season friendly against FC Lugano, Beppe Marotta discussed Inter’s tactics as the market goes on.

He suggested that rather than throwing money at any player they deem good enough, Inter are having to be creative with how they structure deals. This is why so many loan deals with differing terms are being discussed.

They are also having to be opportunistic by acting quickly when a player seems disillusioned at their current club, such as Alex Telles at Manchester United.

“Our market this year is based on opportunity and creativity. It will be difficult for us and for everyone, we know of the contraction that all clubs are subjected to. We need to be patient and wait for shots.”

Beppe Marotta also discussed the pressure that Inter now face by going into the new Serie A campaign as the champions. They will have the Italian Tricolour on their shirts.

“We know that we wear the tricolour cockade on our shirt and it is clear that we must confirm ourselves in that role. We have a coach who has done very well in the team.”
