Midfielder Radja Nainggolan looks set to terminate his contract with Inter in order to facilitate a move for the Belgian to Cagliari, but he has yet to agree on the terms of a severance package with the Nerazzurri.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the talks are ongoing and that the Nerazzurri would likely be willing to go as high as €1-2 million in their offer as an incentive for the player to leave the club.
Nainggolan is not a player with a future at the Nerazzurri, and his departure is hoped for by the club, to the end of getting his substantial wages off of the balance sheet.
A move to Cagliari, where he spent the second half of last season on loan, on a permanent basis, has been in discussions for a number of weeks, though it has hit a stumbling block in the form of the player’s demand for severance pay from the Nerazzurri.
An agreement could finally be found shortly, with the Nerazzurri ready to offer the 33-year-old €1-2 million, to be paid in installments over several years, to agree to terminate his contract, though for now the player has yet to accept any offer.
