Inter are still targeting Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta as a potential replacement for the departed Achraf Hakimi

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old is still seen as a viable option, and would cost the Nerazzurri €12-14 million to bring in.

Zappacosta has been linked to the Nerazzurri throughout the window, with the Italian being regarded as a potentially low-cost but reliable option to replace Hakimi after the Moroccan’s departure for Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italian is not thought to have a major future at Stamford Bridge and, having spent the past two seasons on loan in Serie A with Roma and then Genoa he could make a return at Inter, where his profile is appreciated.

Zappacosta is not the top target for the right-sided role at the Nerazzurri, but his candidacy is still being actively considered and a move for him could yet be made.
