Inter’s desire to sign Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez goes beyond the player’s ability and is also based on the likelihood of being able to strike a deal.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Uruguay international is highly rated by senior figures at Inter and his versatility has been a contributing factor in their pursuit, with Nandez able to play in the centre or on the right.

With Inter looking to replace Achraf Hakimi following his move to Paris Saint-Germain, Nandez’s ability to cover the right wing-back role has tempted the Nerazzurri further.

In addition to this, it is also felt that the former Boca Juniors player is the most likely of Inter’s targets to complete a move to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, due to the willingness of all parties to complete a transfer.

Nandez has already agreed terms with Inter for a four-year deal worth €3 million per season, and the Nerazzurri are looking to finalise an arrangement with Cagliari to take him on an initial loan with an obligation to buy next summer.

Whilst no deal has been struck yet, it is reported that the two clubs are working to reach the closing stages of an agreement.
