Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi is determined to work his way back into first team contention this season and prove his worth to the club.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, the former Sassuolo midfielder has no intention of leaving and is seeking to put his injury worries behind him to force his way into coach Simone Inzaghi’s plans.

The Italian international has endured a torrid spell at Inter with numerous injuries, reducing him to just 40 appearances in two years, and was withdrawn from Italy’s Euro 2020 squad on the eve of the tournament with a knock.

However, he has now returned to fitness and is expected to feature for at least 30 minutes in today’s preseason friendly against Pergolettese at Inter’s Appiano Gentile training ground.

Sensi’s longer term aims are to dislodge one of Hakan Calhanoglu or Marcelo Brozovic in the Nerazzurri’s first team and maintain his form and fitness over the course of the season.
