Inter Consider Zinho Vanheusden To Be The Long Term Replacement For Stefan De Vrij, Italian Media Report

Inter could look to young Belgian centre-back Zinho Vanheusden to replace Stefan de Vrij at the heart of their defense should the 29-year-old depart.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Dutch defender could be on his way to the Premier League and that The Belgian could be his natural heir when he returns from a loan spell with Genoa.

Vanheusden returned to the Nerazzurri on a permanent basis from Standard Liege earlier this summer, and the club have sent him on a dry loan to Genoa for a season to gain Serie A experience.

The player could be in the Nerazzurri’s first-team plans soon, should de Vrij make a move amid Premier League interest, and the club are ready to consider increasing Vanheusden’s role.

The Belgian is a player who the Nerazzurri consider to be a formidable talent, and they would consider giving him a starting position in the event the de Vrij is sold.
