Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi would like to keep winger Ivan Perisic in the squad and make him an important of his new project with the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Italian tactician wants to work with the 32-year-old, despite the club having considered the player to be someone they want to offload.

Perisic’s contract is set to expire next summer, and with his high wages the Nerazzurri are not looking to offer him a new deal beyond the end of June 2022.

For this reason, the club are thought to have been trying to offload the Croatian this summer so that a fee can be recouped for him.

However, they have not yet been successful in doing so, and with the player still at the club Inzaghi has made clear his admiration.

The new head coach would be happy to make Perisic a part of his plans for next season, although Inter CEO Beppe Marotta could still look to offload the player this summer and it remains to be seen whether the 32-year-old is still a Nerazzurri player at the end of the transfer window.
