Romelu Lukaku is set to get his first playing time under new head coach Simone Inzaghi, with the Belgian expected to appear for 20-30 minutes against Crotone in today’s friendly.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that Inzaghi will likely start a midfield containing Marcelo Brozovic, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Stefano Sensi, with Federico Dimarco and Matteo Darmian playing in the wide positions from the beginning.

This afternoon’s friendly could be an early opportunity to see the newly-appointed manager Inzaghi’s tactical approach, and how he chooses to use his squad, with the new roles for certain players slowly becoming clear.

Lukaku has been in training since the beginning of this week, and he should be ready to play and give an early glimpse of the way he will play for Inzaghi after his highly successful exploits under former manager Antonio Conte over the past two seasons.
