Empoli are preparing a bid for Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti as they look to bolster their attacking options on their return to Serie A, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Empoli have begun official contact with the Nerazzurri to learn what it would take financially to secure Andrea Pinamonti’s signature.

Negotiations will be welcomed by Inter as they are looking to end the transfer window with a profit of around €80 million. Andrea Pinamonti is one of the many players that was expected to be moved on in order to raise funds and reduce the wage bill.

Whilst a standard transfer would suit Inter best, they may be open to a loan with an obligation for Empoli to buy the player next summer.

Selling Andrea Pinamonti would allow Inter to more seriously pursue the likes of Keita Balde and Gianluca Scamacca.
