Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has turned down an offer to join Chelsea despite the high salary terms offered by the English club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Belgian has decided to remain in Milan despite the Blues offering him a net of €15 million per season.

Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of the Belgian striker, as they look to prioritize his arrival in the centre-forward after missing out on their first-choice attacking target Erling Haaland.

As part of their attempts to bring the Belgian in, the European Champions have looked to convince the player by offering him substantially improved salary terms, with their latest offer to the 28-year-old thought to have included a net €15 million per season amount.

However, the English side have received the same response from the striker as they have for prior offers, with Lukaku making clear that he is happy in Milan and does not want to make the switch.
