Italian Journalist Mario Sconcerti: “Inter Have A Complete Squad”

Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has given his appraisal of the quality of Inter’s squad, considering the Nerazzurri to have a squad with no obvious weak points.

Writing in his column for Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, the journalist writes that the Nerazzurri have a complete squad as they look to defend last year’s Scudetto crown, but that they will have to prove themselves again.

The Nerazzurri have lost key players in the form of Achraf Hakimi (sold to Paris Saint-Germain) and Christian Eriksen (ruled out through health problems), but they have added a creative midfielder in Hakan Calhanoglu and can still boast a squad that is strong in every position, from goalkeeper and defense through midfield and attack.

As Sconcerti writes, this depth and variety of profiles could prove to be the club’s strongest trait as they look to defend their Scudetto crown under new head coach Simone Inzaghi against rivals who may be formidable in some aspects but lack the Nerazzurri’s all-round quality.

“Allegri talks about Ramsey as a great potential regista. Is he making fun of us or is he serious? Allegri is excellent, he knows how to be inventive. Pjanic was another Ramsey, he was repurposed by him as a regista in a deep role himself. Milan at the bottom of the carousel have remained  interesting, but not more than a year ago. Inter are very good, if nothing else they are complete, but this season is another story, you have to read it first. Napoli have lost Demme, who does the most of the dirty work among the players. Roma have a long way to go, they seem to me to be behind in all the position, therefore also as a final sum.”
