Nestor Villarreal, agent of Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata, has given updates on the Colombian’s links to Inter.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, the agent explained that the striker would be open to joining the Nerazzurri, but that so far no approach has been made by the club about bringing him in.

Zapata has been linked to the Nerazzurri in recent days, with the 30-year-old Colombian thought to be targeted as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian be sold.

Villarreal makes clear that an arrival for the player would be possible, with Inter a destination that he would like, but makes clear that so far there has been no movement towards his arrival at the club.

Whether the Colombian striker is brought in by the club in the end remains to be seen, with his arrival contingent on Lukaku’s departure and a number of other attackers being targeted, but should the club move for him the player would be open to their advances.

“Surely Duvan would like to play for Inter,” Villarreal explained, but the agent also noted, “But there is nothing to say about it because we haven’t talked to any Nerazzurri directors yet. Negotiations do not exist.”
