Fernando Schena, agent of Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata, has given updates about the Colombian striker’s links to Inter.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, the agent explained that no contact has yet taken place between the Nerazzurri and the Atalanta player, but that the 30-year-old would consider a move.

Zapata has been heavily linked with Inter recently, with the Atalanta man considered to be a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian be sold to Chelsea.

The Colombian has been identified as having the right profile to directly step in for the Belgian should he depart from the club, and could be in pole position to arrive in the coming weeks before the transfer window shuts.

As the player’s agent indicates, however, the Nerazzurri have not yet begun the process of trying to sign the striker, though it could be possible to reach a deal should they look to.

“I have not had any discussions with Atalanta, nor have there been any contacts with Inter,” Schena explained.

He continued, “Obviously if Inter make us a proposal, we will evaluate it together with Duvan. But right now he is focused on preparing himself as much as possible to do well with Atalanta.”

On the possibility of his client replacing Lukaku at Inter, the agent simply stated “It would be fantastic.”
