Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is on the verge of completing a €115 million move to Champions League holders Chelsea, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Belgian international had been targeted by his former club and is closing in on a return to Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea ready to break their transfer record to land him.

In a tweet, Di Marzio suggested that negotiations are at an advanced stage and only the final details need ironing out before the transfer is completed, with Lukaku set to return to the Premier League just two years after leaving Manchester United for Inter.

The deal will see Inter earn €115m and there will be no other players included in an exchange, with the Nerazzurri determined to bring in cash only.

“Last details for Lukaku to Chelsea: €115m to Inter without other players in the deal,” Di Marzio tweeted.

Lukaku has scored 64 goals in 95 appearances for Inter and helped the Nerazzurri reach the Europa League Final in 2020, before firing them to the Scudetto last season.
