Inter To Go After PSV Eindhoven’s Denzel Dumfries, Italian Media Report

Inter are pressing to sign PSV right-back Denzel Dumfries, and could hope to have a deal done for him within the next week.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are hoping to have the player in the squad in time for the Serie A opener against Genoa on August 21.

Dumfries is thought to be the priority target on the right side of the pitch to replace Achraf Hakimi, but so far Inter have only made an offer to take the 25-year-old on loan with an option to buy, considered unacceptable by his current club.

Now, the Nerazzurri are ready to make a cash offer, thought to be for €13-15 million including add-ons, though the Dutch side want an amount closer to €15-20 million.

It remains to be seen whether the Nerazzurri can convince the Eindhoven-based side on a deal quickly, but they are determined and the player’s agent Mino Raiola is also pushing to speed up a move.

Dumfries is currently training separately from the rest of the squad in anticipation of a move away, and will not be a part of the team to face Midtjylland in a Champions League qualifying round today.

He could be reintegrated into the squad should PSV not agree a move away for him, but for now he has been promised that he will be allowed to leave the club should the right offer come along and Inter now look close.
