Things started with little or no eventful moments from either side until the 40th minute when Ante Rebic put AC Milan ahead.
Five minutes later former Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimović made it 2-0. This was the result Inter were dreading initially but they showed no fear and came into the second half like a completely different team.
Marcelo Brozovic, the Inter midfielder opened the scoring for the team with a stunning left-footed shot. Two minutes later, Matias Vecino added a second for Inter and just like that the game was leveled.
AC Milan appeared stunned by the energetic football from Inter and it didn’t take too long for Inter to add another one. Stefan De Vrij, an unlikely scorer for the team put the ball in the back of the net from a picture-perfect corner from Antonio Candreva.
As expected AC Milan tried their best to rally a comeback but could not get one, instead Romelu Lukaku added to their woes with a sensational head off a cross by Nigeria’s Victor Moses.
As expected, tough matches mean tough tackles. There was a total of six yellow cards and even a red card for one of Inter’s coaching staff.
