Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is set to wrap up his new contract with the club sometime soon after the Serie A match against Hellas Verona on Friday.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 24-year-old is close to returning to training with the rest of the squad and that he should be ready to play against Verona, after which he will conclude contract negotiations.

Martinez’s current deal with the Nerazzurri is set to expire at the end of June 2023, and the club have been working to quickly find an agreement on a new contract, with the player’s agent having met with the club last week and the talks having progressed.

The Argentine wants to commit his future to the Nerazzurri, and should have an agreement wrapped up soon on a deal that would take him to the end of June 2025 on wages of around €6 million net to that end.
