Inter will meet with Alejandro Camano, agent of Lautaro Martinez, next week for another round of contract talks regarding the Argentine.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the will of both parties is to reach an agreement and that they will hope that the negotiations will bring them closer together.

Martinez’s current deal runs out at the end of June 2023, and the Nerazzurri want to secure his future amid interest from a number of major European clubs.

Last week the first meeting was held with his agent regarding an extension, and the parties reportedly made progress on reaching a final agreement though there is still work to be done before they can fully iron out a deal.

Martinez and his agent are seeking a total amount of €8 million net annually including all add-ons, and it is likely that Inter will have to go to €6.5 million as the fixed amount rather than the €6 million they had been putting forward if their offer is to convince the striker.

It remains to be seen if an agreement on a renewal can ultimately be found, though the will of all parties is that the 24-year-old commit his future to the club.
