Former Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has spoken about the impact that playing for the Nerazzurri had on his mentality in football.
Speaking to Belgian news outlet Sporza, the 28-year-old gave his account of how his time with Inter affected his game and made him a better player.
Lukaku joined Inter in the summer of 2019 from Manchester United, and under head coach Antonio Conte he made an extremely positive impression, culminating in having led Serie A in combined goals and assists last season on the way to a Scudetto triumph.
The Belgian has also been highly prolific for his country, and he added two more goals to his tally for the Red Devils in a World Cup qualifier against Estonia, putting him even further out in front as the country’s all-time top scorer.
Lukaku is now a Chelsea player after a massive summer move, but he has still taken the experience of playing at Inter to heart.
“I learned it with Inter last season: winning and scoring a lot, only then do you get respect,” he reflected.
