Edin Dzeko is likely to be Inter’s main striker when Simone Inzaghi’s side travel west to Genoa to face Sampdoria next weekend, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by the print edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bosnian will almost certainly start the game as the main source of goals for the Nerazzurri because of the complicated flight schedule of Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa.

Edin Dzeko has also been on international duty this week and next, but with him being Bosnian, his journey back to Milan is short. For the Argentine pair, they will not get back to Italy until 36 hours before the match against Sampdoria.

With the first Champions League fixture against Real Madrid coming up shortly after the trip to the Marassi, Simone Inzaghi will want to keep his two strikers fresh.

This is why there is also a chance that Martin Satriano could start up front with Edin Dzeko.
