Legendary former AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta believes that Inter have had a strong summer transfer window and that they have left themselves with a quality squad despite difficult sales.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, the Rossoneri legend gave his view that the Nerazzurri could face tough competition from a number of rivals as they look to defend their Scudetto crown, but that they can rely on good resources within their squad.

Inter endured a summer of upheaval, selling the likes of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku for large fees as they looked to meet strict financial targets in the transfer window.

These departures were widely expected to be difficult for the Nerazzurri to recover from, but after the first two Serie A matches of the season the mood around the club is one of optimism.

The Nerazzurri look to be in for another tough Serie A season if they look to win the Scudetto chase again, but they have given themselves the right players to challenge.

On the Scudetto Nesta said that “The truth is that there are many clubs who could win it this year.

Regarding Inter’s summer, he stated, “They lost a lot but they also replaced well. They remain a strong team, and Simone Inzaghi is a very good coach.”
