Arguably one of the best midfielders since the 2000s, Wesley Sneijder was one of the more important pieces in the success of Inter Milan in the past decade.

Sneijder wasn’t nicknamed “the sniper” for no reason. He was capable of attacking the best teams from all angles. His short stature created a beautiful balance for him when running with the ball. He also had a pace that was difficult to keep up with.

Whenever there was a free-kick in a dangerous position, Sneijder was the go-to guy and he would usually hit the target. Dead balls were his favourite place.

Asides from scoring free-kicks, Sneijder could put in a killer cross. Sneijder’s versatility made him even better. He could hit with both his right and his left foot.

The power in his shot was often enough to make keepers tremble. He played his role as a midfielder as well as anyone of the best.

He had a terrific long passing ability and could create plays from a deep position in the midfield. He could also play as a false 9 likewise as a winger.

Conclusion

Sneijder was, without a doubt, one of Inter’s best signings in the past decade. He had so much impact in such a short time and he will forever be in the hearts of Inter fans — both as a player and as a person.
