Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is feeling strong anticipation ahead of this evening’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid at the San Siro.

Speaking to Amazon Prime, as reported by FCInter1908, the 45-year-old spoke about the emotions of coaching Inter in a major European match at home in front of fans ahead of the Champions League group stage opener.

Inter will hope to make a positive impression in this season’s edition of the Champions League having endured disappointing exits from the group stage in each of the past three seasons.

In this edition of the competition they will be led by former Lazio boss Inzaghi who feels ready for the intensity and feelings associated with leading the Nerazzurri in front of the San Siro on a massively significant night against grand opposition.

The Italian tactician wants to do the absolute best job he can to get his selection and tactics right and get the better of Real on the night.

“There is a lot of emotion for this debut,” he said, “making my debut on a stage like San Siro is exciting. I would like for everyone to have a glimpse of what I can do.”

He went on, “As a coach my desire is that whoever starts does their absolute best. Sometimes though it is more important who comes on from the bench than who starts.”
