Fiorentina head coach Vincenzo Italiano believes that his team were unable to cope when Inter quickened the pace of the game in the second half on Tuesday, and this is why his side loss.

Speaking in a press conference after La Viola’s 1-0 win against Udinese, as reported by FCInterNews, the Italian tactician gave the view that his side can struggle against team who play at a fast and precise pace and that the Nerazzurri were able to exploit this.

Inter had a tough match when they faced La Viola at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Tuesday, with Italiano’s men pressing them intensely in the first half and causing them to struggle with building a rhythm.

The Nerazzurri went in at the interval a goal down, but in the second half of the match the complexion of play was very different and Inter methodically hauled back the deficit, going on to win the encounter 3-1.

For Italiano, this speaks to the quality of the Nerazzurri and to his team’s struggles with keeping the pace of a match against top opponents for ninety minutes.

“Both against Inter and in Bergamo and today,” he said, “when the opponent raises the pace and their centre of gravity, we begin to lose composure and quality.”
