Legendary former Inter and Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro believes that Inter are the likeliest team to win the Scudetto thanks to their mindset.
Speaking to Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the World Cup winner gave the view that the Nerazzurri can build on the mentality that they developed last season and continue in that fashion, defending their Scudetto crown.
Inter won their first Scudetto in eleven years last season, breaking a nine-season run of dominance by rivals Juventus, and the team showed the kind of resilience and determination needed to fight for the title over a full season.
Head coach Antonio Conte departed in the summer, and two major players followed him in the form of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku, but the core of the team is still there, and the experience of having gone all the way and scaled the heights of the table last season could still carry the squad through difficulties this season.
Cannavaro stated that “Inter’s squad and their winning mindset would seem to make them the favourites to win the Scudetto.”
