Torino President Urbano Cairo appears to have admitted defeat in his fight to get Andrea Belotti to sign a new contract at the club, according to a report in the Italian media.
Whilst speaking to TMW, Urbano Cairo explained that he doesn’t think the Italian striker has any interest in signing an extension with his club and that he made an offer that is the most he could possibly have given to the player.
“For the moment he hasn’t signed, I don’t think he wants to sign. I made an offer that went beyond my means, I can’t force him to do anything.”
Inter made an approach for Andrea Belotti in the summer but the transfer did not come off. His contract with Torino will expire in June 2022 meaning he can negotiate with other teams for a free transfer from January onwards.
Inter are one of many teams that are looking to exploit this and take the striker without handing Torino a transfer fee.
Fiorentina is believed to be interested in getting him to replace the seemingly outgoing Dusan Vlahovic.
