Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia has enjoyed his time with Inter, experiencing a number of memorable moments with the best one being when he was sure the club would win the Scudetto.

Speaking to the Nerazzurri’s Instagram channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the 33-year-old highlighted the moment as the most special of his career in a Nerazzurri shirt.

Ranocchia joined Inter from Genoa in 2010, and has gone on to make 216 appearances for the club in addition to having loan spells with the likes of Sampdoria and Hull City.

Now 33 and possibly in the final season of his contract with the club having extended his deal by one year during the summer, the defender can reflect on an eventful career with the club.

Ranocchia was with the club for difficult periods in which they were outside of the top four in Serie A, but also throughout their recent ascent back into being one of Italy’s top clubs, which culminated in finally winning the first Scudetto of his decade-plus time in Milan.

On his best goal in an Inter shirt he said, “The one to take the lead against Chievo, a few years ago.”

On an important block he made in the Champions League against Bayern Munich he stated, “It was certainly a source of great satisfaction, because then we regrouped and won. We were in trouble, it’s a wonderful memory.”

“Love what you do and try to improve day after day” was the Italian’s approach to playing at Inter.

Of his favourite memory at Inter he said, “Maybe on the plane after the victory in Crotone, when we realized that nothing was missing for the Scudetto.”

On why he loves living in Milan Ranocchia stated, “A little bit of everything, it’s a city with a lot to offer. My family and I have a great time.”

The defender also revealed the two players who he is next to in the Nerazzurri locker room, stating “Sanchez and Gagliardini.”

Of the emotion he gets from playing at the San Siro Ranocchia stated, “Always a great feeling, even entering the stadium and experiencing that atmosphere is fantastic.”

Regarding his closest friendships at Inter he stated, “There have been many, among whom I would say D’Ambrosio, Handanovic then the great duo [backup goalkeepers Tomasso and Daniele] Berni and Padelli.”

Finally he spoke about current midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, stating that “We have fun with each other, a little bit me and a little bit him. But he gets me more often.”
