Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi will have to wait until the eleventh hour to know whether striker Lautaro Martinez will be ready to play against Lazio in the Nerazzurri’s first game back from the international break.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who suggest that the Nerazzurri boss will be following the Argentine’s situation with apprehension.

Martinez was left out of the Argentine national team’s squad for their last game against Paraguay, but he could play in the Albiceleste’s clash with Uruguay later tonight.

It is not clear whether the striker will be fully fit having missed the Paraguay clash through a minor muscle fatigue, but Inzaghi will hope that he is fit when he returns to be with his club.

Moreover, Martinez and fellow striker Joaquin Correa are among the South American players set to arrive in Rome for the Lazio clash very late, and it is unclear whether they will be in any condition to play.

Lastly, Edin Dzeko played for Bosnia and Herzgovina against Kazakhstan, and could likely feature for his national team against Ukraine on Tuesday, and Inzaghi will have to hope that the 35-year-old does not suffer from any injuries or tiredness lest he be left without yet another key attacker amid his worries about Martinez.
