Inter could look to bring in both Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic and Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez should Alexis Sanchez depart during the January transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri could bring in both players if they are freed from Sanchez’s wages.

Real Madrid striker Jovic had been a target in the summer as part of the replacement plan for Romelu Lukaku before the club ultimately turned their attention to other players.

Directors Piero Ausilio and Beppe Marotta are still long-term admirers of the Serbian and he could be brought in on loan were Sanchez to depart and leave a space in attack, especially given that his net €5 million salary is €2.5 million less than that of the Chilean.

Meanwhile, Cagliari midfielder Nandez is a player who the Nerazzurri had been close to signing in the summer before the deal fell through, and they could turn their attention to him again in January should Sanchez leave the club.

A deal could be sought with the Rossoblu which sees the money spread out for the Uruguayan, who could provide an option both on the right and in midfield, over a long term, while his wages could potentially be accommodated were Sanchez to come off the wage bill.

With the club’s aim to seriously compete for their second Scudetto in a row, the signing of both players could represent immediate injections of quality in the squad for the second half of the season.
