Inter will look to bring in a striker who can act as a backup to Edin Dzeko should Alexis Sanchez leave the club in January.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri will prioritize a striker with similar qualities to the Bosnian who can play in his place when he is absent.

Sanchez could be on his way out in January, with the Chilean unhappy with his limited playing time and venting his frustration in a social media outburst.

If the 32-year-old does depart from the club then an attacker will be signed in his place, but rather than a direct replacement the club will target a player with a profile to act as a deputy to Dzeko.

Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca looks to be one of the Nerazzurri’s top names to take on the role, although the Neroverdi have stated that he is not for sale.
