The referee of Inter’s 2-0 win over Empoli has been criticised for not awarding the hosts a penalty after a foul by Danilo D’Ambrosio, according to a report in the Italian print media.
As has been reported by Tuttosport, the decision not to award the Azzurri a penalty when Danilo D’Ambrosio appeared to have taken down Nedim Bajrami in the box is yet another poor decision in Serie A this season.
Inter were on the receiving end of a similar decision during the big match against Juventus last weekend as the Bianconeri were awarded a penalty late in the game for Denzel Dumfries’ challenge on Alex Sandro.
Many teams have felt that they have been on the end of some poor refereeing decision so far this season, particularly Venezia.
They saw Ethan Ampadu given a straight red card for what appeared to be an excellent challenge on Franck Ribery in a game against Salernitana this week.
