A former Inter midfielder has reassured Simone Inzaghi that the effects of travelling back from Moldova will be limited by having won the match, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking in the studio on Sky Sport in Italy, Esteban Cambiasso explained that the players will be happy and fresh when they return to Appiano Gentile because they won the match against FC Sheriff.
“When you win the games in this way it is easier to recover. You have to do a little bus and plane, but they will immediately be happy in Appiano for having won in the Champions League. Simone can rest assured, the boys will be able to recharge.”
The Argentine then singled out Alexis Sanchez for praise, mentioning how he showed great energy to score his goal once he came off the substitutes bench.
“They are doing well, they are all motivated. Even Sanchez, as soon as he enters, takes a 30-meter sprint and scores: these are important signs.”
Inter were playing on Wednesday night in Transnistria which is one of the furthest distances that they could possibly travel within the tournament.
That concerns many as they now must prepare to face AC Milan on Sunday who’s Champions League match was played at home against FC Porto.
The Rossoneri could only manage a 1-1 draw in that game.
