Former Italian manager Fabio Capello has said that Inter will be a dangerous team for anyone to play in the Champions League this season, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking in the Sky Sport studios after the 3-1 victory over FC Sheriff on Wednesday night, the ex-AC Milan and Juventus manager said that there was a clear difference in quality between the two teams in Tiraspol.
“Too much diversity of class, players and teams. Inter showed all their strength, they did not allow any chances and it means that they prepared them very well. As soon as the match was unlocked, it was all a lot easier.”
Inter are not mathematically through to the knockout stages of the Champions League yet but it would take a serious collapse for them to be eliminated now that they are on seven points.
“They are not yet mathematically sure of progression, but they have made a big step forward. They had great balance and control, they had to win and they wanted to win, as you can see from the concentration they had on the field.”
Fabio Capello then went on to say that whoever faces Inter in the round of 16, should they get there, will be facing a very difficult test as there are many players in Simone Inzaghi’s squad that can score goals.
“Inter will be a dangerous opponent for everyone because they have the ability to score with all the players and in all situations. It is very dangerous.”
Inter won the match thanks to goals from Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar, and Alexis Sanchez.
