There is still some way to go between Inter and Marcelo Brozovic before an agreement can be found on a new contract, while Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to move for the Croat.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that new Spurs boss Antonio Conte has requested that the Premier League club make Brozovic a transfer priority and that there is still distance between the midfielder and Inter on salary terms.

Brozovic wants a minimum of €6 million net per season before he is ready to sign a new deal with the Nerazzurri, with his current contract set to expire at the end of June 2022.

Meanwhile, the club have not signalled that they will go any higher than €5 million net, and it could take some time before an agreement can be found if it can at all.

Conte has taken over as head coach at Tottenham, and the Italian will be looking to make signings to fulfill roles in his preferred formation at the club so he could make a reunion with Brozovic a priority, especially if the 28-year-old looks to be available on a free transfer next summer.
