Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal and forward Alexis Sanchez have tested negative for COVID-19 despite the fact that their national teammate Mauricio Isla has been put in quarantine after coming into contact with someone who tested positive.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the two Nerazzurri players have not tested positive for COVID despite having been in contact with Isla.

Isla, who plays for Flamengo in Brazil, is asymptomatic and vaccinated, and tested negative for the virus as well, but because he came in close contact with someone who had tested positive he has had to go into quarantine for a week.

Isla’s status will have been a worry for the other members of the Chilean national team squad who are currently convened in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers during the international break.

However, Vidal and Sanchez were both tested along with the rest of the squad, and both players’ tests came back negative.
