Inter owners Suning are hoping to cash in on the potentially growing world of Chinese sport and its influence across the world, according to a report in the Italian media.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, a recent video conference between Chinese President Xi Jinping and the President of the United States of America Joe Biden has helped thaw the frosty political relations between the two countries from previous years.
China is due to host the Winter Olympics in February 2022 and many in the USA have called for a boycott of those games.
Suning hope to benefit from having the worlds media observing China in 2022. They also see the benefits in the fact that Formula One has just announced its first Chinese driver as Guanyu Zhou will take Antonio Giovinazzi’s seat at the Alfa Romeo team next season.
Suning clearly senses further sponsorship opportunities in the sporting world off the back of these events.
