Inter are close to agreeing on a new deal with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, with another meeting expected with his entourage in the coming days to extend his contract.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 29-year-old’s desire continues to be to stay on at the club and that an agreement on a new four-year deal looks to be close at hand.

Extending Brozovic’s contract has been a major priority for the Nerazzurri given that his current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022 and he has become a vital player in the centre of the pitch.

In the last couple weeks the club have started formal talks with the Croat’s father and the family lawyer who represents him with the aim of moving towards a renewal agreement.

Yesterday, the midfielder’s entourage were in Venice to watch the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 Serie A win over Venezia, and in the coming days they are expected to hold another meeting to come closer to an agreement on a new contract.

The report states that there is great optimism that an agreement should be found on a new deal soon and that the renewal is Brozovic’s only real consideration.
