Young Roma forward Felix Afena-Gyan has become the third Roma player to test positive for COVID-19 ahead of the Giallorossi’s Serie A clash with Inter on Saturday.

This is confirmed by a tweet on the club’s official site, where they confirmed that the Ghanaian has tested positive for the virus, which is likely to lead to him missing the match.

The likes of Gonzalo Villar and Bryan Cristante have already tested positive for COVID in recent days, and now the Giallorossi will also be without Afena-Gyan.

The 18-year-old scored Roma’s late winner against Genoa from off the bench in the first Serie A match back from the international break.

However, the club has confirmed that the young forward has unfortunately tested positive for COVID, though no update was given as to whether the player has shown any symptoms, though it is clarified that he has received his vaccine for the virus.

The club’s tweet reads, “AS Roma report that, following a test carried out with a molecular swab, vaccinated footballer Felix Afena-Gyan has tested positive for COVID-19.”
