Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has received praise for his display against Spezia on Wednesday night at San Siro, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
As was reported by Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport when handing out the player ratings after the match, Lautaro Martinez’s performance was the “best on the field” and warranted a score of 7.5 out of 10.
His excellent flick allowed Roberto Gagliardini to score the opening goal and then he dispatched the penalty that wrapped up the three points in the second half.
The players just below him in the ratings were Samir Handanovic who was impressive when finally called into action, Roberto Gagliardini who scored his first goal of the season, and Hakan Calhanoglu who continued his fine form.
The Turkish midfielder has struggled for consistency since joining Inter but he has now cemented himself in the midfield of Simone Inzaghi’s Inter team.
